Based on recent events
Large expulsions of plasma and magnetic field from the Sun's corona. Can cause geomagnetic storms when directed at Earth.
Sudden eruptions of electromagnetic radiation from the Sun. Classified by intensity: A, B, C, M, X (weakest to strongest).
Disturbances in Earth's magnetosphere caused by solar wind. Measured by Kp index (0-9). Can affect satellites and power grids.
2026-03-04T00:48:00-CME-001
CME first seen to the NW in SOHO LASCO C2 starting at 2026-03-04T00:48Z. This CME is also seen to the NW in SOHO LASCO C3 and GOES CCOR-1. It is covered by a real-time data gap in STEREO A COR2. The source of this CME is possibly related to some faint field line movement seen beyond the NW in SDO AIA 193 beginning around 2026-03-04T00:00Z.

This CME is visible to the east/southeast in SOHO LASCO C2, GOES CCOR-1 and STEREO A COR2A imagery. This event is not seen in SOHO LASCO C3 imagery as it is obscured by the pylon. The source is likely related to a filament eruption centered near S20E70 starting around 2026-03-04T01:00Z as seen in SDO AIA 131/171/193/304 and GOES SUVI 131/171/195/284/304 imagery. A subsequent opening of field lines is visible over the southeast limb in SDO AIA 171/193 and GOES SUVI 171/195/284 imagery.

This CME is visible to the north in STEREO A COR2 imagery and to the north/northwest in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and GOES CCOR-1 imagery. The source may be related to minor brightening observed near N55W04 starting around 2026-03-04T07:30Z as seen in SDO AIA 193 imagery.
